Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship

A former analyst with Pro Football Focus, Shane Mularkey joined Airstream Ventures in 2018, and began serving as director of operations a year later. Since then, Shane Mularkey has overseen operations for sporting and entertainment events throughout north Florida, among them the Lucas Oil Motocross Championship.

Beginning with the Hangtown Motocross Classic in California each May, the championship involves individual stops at motocross facilities throughout the country. At each event, professional motocross racers compete on some of the country’s most challenging tracks, taking part in one of two classes: the 450 Class for 251-450 cc motorcycles, or the 250 Class for 150-250 cc machines.

Widely regarded as the premier motocross championship, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship comprises 12 rounds on natural terrain courses that include obstacles such as jumps, hills, or banked patches of soil known as berms. In each race, drivers compete in two 35-minute races, or motos, with both scores combined to determine the event winner. The series is sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, the country’s premier professional motorcycle racing sanctioning body.
